The following text refers to questions 9 and 10.

EVERYTHING IS “O.K.”

One of the stories about the origin of “O.K.” is about an old Indian chief with a very strange name. The Americans were not able to say it, but it was something similar to “O.K.”. This Indian was very friendly and accepted everything the American colonists said. So, every time they wanted to say everything was correct, they said it was “O.K”.
But experts who study old Greek texts have another theory. Hundreds of years ago, every Greek teacher wrote “Ola” (everything) “Kala” (good) or simply “O.K”. at the end of any school paper which didn’t have any mistakes. It came from ancient Greece to America and from there to the rest of the world.
At least the world agrees on something: two little letters!
(Adapted from an article by Karen Kreibohm, in BBC Modern English)

Como se apresentar em Inglês? (Introducing yourself)

Também dá pra variar entre "Hi", "What's up?" (super informal) e etc.
  • "My name's Fulano de Tal." Essa funciona bem e não tem erro. Também dá pra usar "I'm Fulano de Tal". Não esqueça de caprichar na pronúncia!
  • "I'm from Curitiba, Brazil"/"I'm Brazilian" e etc. para dizer de onde você é. "I live in Curitiba" também é bacana.

Exemplo:

"I'm a student"
"I'm a hairdresser"
"I'm an engineer"
